  • Providing expertise in Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition & Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Physical Conditioning and Games Analysis to national athletes and coaches.
  • Planning and implementing the Institute’s activities for high performance development using scientific and systematic methods.
  • Planning and implementing long term and short term research in Sports Science and associated fields.
  • Organising local and international, academic and professional sports science courses/seminars/conferences.
  • Planning and providing physical fitness programmes, exercise physiology and biomechanics testing services to national athletes.
  • Planning and gathering primary data from the psychological testing of athletes and providing sports psychology, counseling and mental training exercise services to national athletes.
  • Providing food analysis and sports nutrition counseling.
  • Gathering and disseminating Sports Science information to athletes, coaches, officers and trainers.
  • Data management.
  • Application and development of technology for local sports.
  • Development of software for sport applications.

Sports Science Division is divided into :

Exercise Physiology Centre

The Exercise Physiology Centre is responsible for determining and monitoring the physical and physiological characteristics that are important to the performance of athletes in their particular sport.

Sports Psychology Centre

Educates, teaches, implement psychological and mental skills training and strategies to athletes to enhance their sports performance.

Sports Biomechanic Centre

The Centre for Biomechanics aims to provide world class sports biomechanical services through the integrated application of sports and exercise sciences, technological and health sciences to assist and create innovative, practical and effective solutions.

Sports Nutrition Centre

Provide athletes with the nutritional support necessary to promote optimal sports performance through a scientific education programme. Weight management, body composision assesment, consultation, hydration status assesment are the other activities carried out by this centre.

Conditioning Centre

To help athletes achieve Optimal/Peak Performance through the use of scientific training methodology and integration with other sports science disciplines.

Games Analysis Centre

Analyse the performance of the athletes and provide feedback to athletes and coaches via the use of specific sport programme.
